Our Story

Decades of technology expertise. Long-lasting relationships.

Microtrol was founded in 1981 by Jose Almeida, Grant Newland and John Angermayer, hardware and software engineers at Racal-Milgo, an influential developer of early modems and other data communications and networking equipment.

With an initial focus on software, the company developed bespoke applications and helped clients adopt local area networks (LANs), database management and other transformative business technologies.

As IT needs evolved, Microtrol kept its clients at the forefront of emerging technologies in networking and internet infrastructure, email, wireless communications and e-commerce.

For over four decades, Microtrol has supported small-to-medium sized businesses across industries in South Florida, including distribution, newspapers and media, telecommunications, law offices, healthcare, construction, retail and hospitality.

As a family-run business, we believe in enduring client partnerships. Many of our earliest clients continue to rely on us today. Our mission is to understand each organization's needs and tailor our IT services to support its success.
